Jimmy Ray Nix, Jr., passed away at his home in Westpoint, TN, on December 6, 2025, at the age of 47. Born on July 28, 1978, in Nashville, TN, Jimmy was a skilled carpenter by trade, a profession that allowed him to express his creativity and his love for working with his hands.
Jimmy’s love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding peace in the stillness of nature. Boating was another of his favorite activities, and he spent many happy hours on the water with friends and family. His love for the outdoors was only surpassed by his love for his family, with whom he cherished spending time.
Though he is no longer with us, Jimmy’s legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his devoted mother, Susan Harris Nix; his wife, Tara Morrison; his daughter, Lexie Massey; his five brothers, Thomas (Sha), Matthew (Lois), Charles (Debbie), Neal, and Johnny Nix; his step-brother, Dillion Nation; his sisters, Lisa Wiser and Sandy Evans; his step-sisters, Amelia Truitt (Jacob) and Heather Carter (Tyler); and his cherished granddaughter, Gloria Novalee Nix. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Ray Nix, Sr.; his daughter, Chloe Lynn Nix; and his grandparents, Thomas Nix, Opal Daniels, Carl Oden Harris, and Gloria June Harris.
The pallbearers, chosen to honor Jimmy’s memory, include Marlon Huntley, Lucas Huntley, Aaron Walls, Easton Stults, Brad Campbell, and Bo Garland. Serving as an honorary pallbearer is his beloved daughter, Lexie Massey, a role that signifies her special place in his heart.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Monday, December 8, 2025, with Arnold Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Second Creek Cemetery in Five Points, TN.
