Guatemala Resident Convicted in Child Exploitation Case

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office has announced a conviction in their initiative to combat child exploitation.  Edgar Josue Castro-Juarez of Guatemala, age 29, was convicted on charges that include electronic solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful ex act, and first degree attempted human trafficking.  Since the initiative was launched in February of 2024, officers have arrested nearly 50 individuals.  Sentencing for Castro-Juarez is scheduled to be held in January.
