Lawrence County EMS responded to 516 service requests in November, transporting 345 patients. Crews completed 51 transfers to Maury Regional Medical Center, three to North Alabama Medical Center, one to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Pulaski, and 29 transports to other counties. They also handled 109 refusal-of-care or no-care-required calls, 26 fire standby, law enforcement, and mutual aid requests, and 52 canceled or no-patient-found calls. Four community outreach or lifesaving training events were conducted during the month.
EMS officials noted that call volume remained consistent with the same month last year and with October. Continuing education for responders in November focused on cardiac emergencies, state EMS updates, and common pitfalls in emergency medical response.
New equipment was recently placed into service, including video laryngoscope systems, IV warmers, junctional tourniquets, and refrigerator units in every ambulance — enhancements aimed at improving care in critical, time-sensitive situations.
