Tennessee gas prices fell an average of four cents over the past week, bringing the statewide average to $2.60 per gallon. AAA reports the average price on Thanksgiving Day was $2.63, the lowest for the holiday since 2020 and five cents cheaper than last year. Lower crude oil prices and seasonally weak gasoline demand continue to help keep pump prices down heading into the rest of the holiday season.

Nationally, the average price for regular gasoline dipped to $3.00 on Sunday, the first time in four years the national average has reached that level. AAA attributes the decline to low crude oil costs and sluggish demand.

Across Tennessee, Jackson has the highest metro average at $2.66, followed by Nashville at $2.65 and Memphis at $2.64. The lowest averages are in Chattanooga and Clarksville, both at $2.51, with Morristown close behind at $2.55.
