James Roy “Jimmy” McDonald, Jr., a cherished husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, in his hometown of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Born on October 17, 1951, in Lawrence County, TN.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James McDonald, Sr. and Kathleen Gobble McDonald, as well as his brothers-in-law, Justin Prince, Randy Fisher, and Richard Fisher. His memory will be treasured and kept alive by his devoted wife of 16 years, Darlene Fisher McDonald, and his brother, Jerry Lightfoot (Susie), extended family members, Elaine Johnson (Randall), Jennifer Calahan (Ben), Reed Calahan, Hope Calahan, Nancie Crosby (Gary), Michael Banks (Patty), Connie Gallaher (David), Andrew Gallaher (Courtney), Matthew Gallaher (Stacy), Frances Taylor, and Ronnie McDonald (Frances); and his sisters, Linda Prince and Sherry Hughes (Gary)  who shared in the countless precious moments that made up his life.

Jimmy retired from Southern Shirt.  An avid lover of the outdoors, Jimmy had a particular fondness for all things horses and trail riding. He was often found with a Louis L’Amour western novel in hand. Jimmy had a love for western shows.

His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we say goodbye to James Roy “Jimmy” McDonald, Jr., we celebrate a life that was filled with laughter, love, and the grace of a true gentleman.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate team at Arden Hospice, with special gratitude to Carla and Becky for their exceptional care and support during Jimmy’s final days and also special caregiver, Jessica. Their dedication to his comfort and well-being was a source of great solace to him and his loved ones.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2025, with Cory Bell officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
