District Attorney Brent Cooper announces the return of Night to Honor, an annual event supporting families who have lost a loved one to homicide in Giles, Lawrence, Maury, and Wayne counties. The observance will take place Monday, December 8, at 6:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 2100 Springer Road, Lawrenceburg. Guests may begin arriving at 5:15 PM for registration. This year’s program will include the testimony of Elizabeth Bargen, mother of Misty McWhorter, a teenager who died in a car crash caused by an intoxicated driver on November 26, 2010, in Lawrence County. The driver was convicted and sentenced to prison. Night to Honor provides families an opportunity to reflect, receive support from the community and local victim assistance services, and honor their loved ones. Attendees may bring a photo of their loved one for the ceremony and an ornament to be placed on a Remembrance Wreath. For additional information or to RSVP by December 3, contact the District Attorney’s Office at 931‑766‑1453 ext. 6107 or email Kendra Cannon at klcannon@tndagc.org.
