The 2025 statewide muzzleloader and archery season for deer opens Saturday, November 8, and continues through Friday, November 21, across all six of Tennessee’s Deer Management Units. According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the statewide bag limit for antlered deer is two. In Units 1, 2, and 3, hunters may take up to three antlerless deer per day, while Units 4, 5, and 6 have a limit of two antlerless deer. These limits may be exceeded only through the Earn-A-Buck program or as a replacement buck in a CWD-positive county. The statewide gun season opens November 22 and continues through January 4, followed by the second young sportsman deer hunt on January 10–11. Hunters are encouraged to review the 2025–26 Tennessee Hunting and Trapping Guide for license information, county listings, and bag limits. The guide is available on the TWRA website, through the TWRA App, and wherever hunting and fishing licenses are sold. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency manages the state’s fish and wildlife resources and promotes safe outdoor recreation.
