Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responds to 1,157 calls in October

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,157 calls for service during October, resulting in 155 arrests. WLX reports that deputies conducted 160 traffic stops and responded to 34 crashes. Among the calls were 39 domestic violence incidents, 18 thefts, 16 fraud reports, 15 suicide attempts, and seven vandalism cases. Other activity included 248 civil processes, 81 animal calls, 30 suspicious person or activity reports, 19 funeral escorts, 18 mental health transports, 18 burglar alarms, and 16 motorist assists. There were no SWAT or Taser deployments reported during the month.
