Firefighters quickly brought a house fire under control October 8 on Will Brown Road, thanks in part to the county’s new automatic aid system. The blaze occurred in an area where Spring Hill Fire Department responds to assist Maury County units. Crews arrived to find the home heavily involved and contained the fire without any reported injuries. Officials said the incident demonstrates the success of automatic aid agreements established over the past year to improve emergency response across jurisdictional lines. Maury County Fire Department thanked the leadership of Spring Hill Fire Chief Temple, Columbia Fire Chief Cummins, Mt. Pleasant Fire Chief Stewart, MCFD Chief Periut, and Maury 911 for helping implement the system.
