Gregory Mark Odom, a dearly loved husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home in Lawrenceburg, TN, on Friday, October 31, 2025, following an extended illness. Born to Charles and Vera Skinner Odom in Lawrenceburg, TN, on March 6, 1960, Mark’s larger-than-life personality and his deep love for the Lord endeared him to many throughout his 65 years of life.

Mark was a man of faith and family. His devotion to his Christian beliefs was evident in every aspect of his life, from his kindness and generosity to his commitment to sharing the love of Jesus with everyone he met. He was a beacon of hope and a source of comfort to those who were fortunate enough to know him.

An avid outdoorsman, Mark found joy in the simplicity of nature. He was passionate about bass fishing and hunting, often sharing these experiences with family and friends. Beyond his hobbies, Mark was dedicated to serving others. He was often the first to volunteer when someone was in need, whether wielding a chainsaw to help clear debris after a natural disaster or offering a comforting word to those in distress. His passion for helping others was a testament to his generous heart.

Mark’s legacy is carried on by his beloved family. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Odom. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his mother, Vera Skinner Odom; his loving wife, Patti Wall Odom; his son, Austin Lawrence Odom; his siblings, Mike Odom (Lesa), Melanie Odom Wilkins (Thomas), and Steven Odom; his aunt, Sybil Skinner Hardison; his uncle, Wyndell Skinner; his step-children, Kayelyn (KK) Short (Zach), and Jake Shedd; his step-grandchildren, Kaden and Gracie Short; as well as his numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, all of whom will miss him profoundly.

Throughout his life, Mark embodied the virtues of being faith-filled, generous, and loving. His presence was a comfort, his laughter contagious, and his guidance invaluable. He was a pillar in his family and community, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the team at Caris Healthcare — Julie, Missy, Bailey, Donna, and Kent — for their exceptional care, love, and support. Their dedication and compassion made a significant difference in his quality of life and provided great comfort to his family.

Gregory Mark Odom lived a life that exemplified the virtues of kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, but the impact of his love and the example of his life will continue to inspire those who knew him for many years to come. Mark’s journey on earth has ended, but his spirit will forever dwell in the hearts of those who loved him.
