Efforts are underway to help local families through the Feeding LawCo food drive, which runs from October 31 through November 12. The community-wide drive aims to collect non-perishable food items to support Lawrence County residents who may be affected by the temporary suspension of federal SNAP benefits. Most-needed items include canned goods, rice, pasta, oatmeal, cereal, peanut butter, shelf-stable milk, cooking oil, boxed meal kits, and similar pantry staples. Donations can be dropped off at Summertown Medical Center; Heritage Automotive, Rustic Hinge, or First Baptist Church Christian Life Center in Lawrenceburg; or In-Service Towing in Loretto. A food box distribution will be held Saturday, November 15, beginning at 9 a.m. at First Baptist Church Christian Life Center, 2100 Springer Road in Lawrenceburg, and will continue until all food is distributed. For more information, volunteer inquiries can be directed to Nicole Miller at (931) 242-8006, and donation inquiries to Bo’s Blessings at (931) 244-0590.
