Born on the 18th of December, 1948, in Limestone County, Alabama, Bonnie’s life was a testament to the strength and warmth of her spirit.
Bonnie was the beloved matriarch of her family, a source of unconditional love and guidance. She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, James Alvie and Iva Irene Dollar; her loving husband, Andy Andrew Dollar; and her two sons, Brenton Dollar and Andrew Drew Dollar. Their memories remain a beacon of light in the hearts of those who knew them.
Her legacy continues through her daughters, April Lopp (Buck) and Crystal Dollar O’Neal (Dionne), both of Athens, Alabama. Bonnie’s sisters, Donna Harbin and Jeanette Hill, both also of Athens, will hold dear the memories of their sister’s compassionate heart and joyful laughter. Her five brothers-in-law, Ronnie, Ray, Herbie, Darren, and David Dollar, will remember her as a sister who enriched their lives with her kindness and grace.
Bonnie was a cherished grandmother to Tyler Lopp, Trevor Lopp, McKay Dollar, and Peyton Dollar, who will carry forward her lessons of love and integrity. Her great-grandchildren, Dallas Lopp and Maddie Lopp, were blessed to know their great-grandmother’s embrace and will learn of her character through the stories that will be passed down for generations.
Bonnie’s professional life was marked by dedication and hard work. She retired from M-Fine and North American Container, where she was respected by her colleagues for her commitment and work ethic. Her contributions to her workplace were a reflection of her steadfast nature and her belief in the value of service.
As a devout Christian, Bonnie was a pillar in her church community at the New Life Center. She lived her faith through her actions, and her involvement in the church was a source of great joy and fulfillment. Bonnie’s faith was her compass, and it guided her through the many seasons of her life.
In every aspect of her life, Bonnie Marie Dollar was a woman of exceptional character and love. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, yet her influence will continue to be felt.
