Lawrence County Schools is joining districts across the nation in recognizing National School Bus Safety Week, reminding students, parents, and drivers that safety starts the moment a child steps on the bus. Officials urge motorists to stop for school buses when red lights are flashing and stop arms are extended. Parents are encouraged to review safe loading and unloading practices with their children, while students are reminded to stay alert, look both ways, and follow their driver’s instructions. The district says that every stop, every route, and every day, safety is everyone’s responsibility.
