TDOC Announces Digitized Mail for Inmates

The Tennessee Department of Corrections has announced that, beginning November 3, they will transition from physical mail for inmates, to scanned, digitized personal mail.  Inmates will be able to access mail through TDOC-issued tablets.  The change is being made to reduce contraband in the prisons and increase security, while also providing faster and more reliable mail delivery to inmates.
