The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department has announced they will be conducting roadside sobriety checkpoints in Lawrence County during the Halloween weekend. On October 31, they will be set up from 6 p.m. until midnight at the Buffalo Road/Ethridge Red Hill Road intersection as well as at 100 Highway 20. On Saturday, November 1, they will set up from 6 p.m. until midnight at 348 Rabbit Trail Road and at 614 West Point Road. Deputies will be targeting persons who are operating vehicles while impaired. Sobriety checkpoints provide a highly visible and effective tool to combat impaired driving.
