Ann Harrison, a beacon of loving kindness and thoughtfulness, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, in Nashville, TN. Born on February 27, 1936, in Lawrence County, TN, Ann’s life was a testament to the enduring strength and grace that she carried throughout her 89 years.

The daughter of Lewis Ester and Ruthie Mae Grissom Spear, Ann grew up in a home filled with warmth and love. She inherited a nurturing spirit from her parents, a quality that she would carry forward into her own family and community. Ann’s journey through life was marked by the cherished bonds she formed with her siblings. Her sisters, Ruby Spear and Pauline Wiley, preceded her in death, as did her beloved husband, Joe Harrison. The legacy of their shared memories remains a treasure for those who knew them.

Ann’s devotion to her family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her loving children: Deborah Snider (Ricky) of Lawrenceburg, TN, David Hine (Peggy) of Leoma, TN, and Shawn Harrison (Susan) of Lawrenceburg, TN. Her nine grandchildren, Sumika Swann (Greg), Erik Snider (Michelle), Matt Hine (Heather), Kim Gibbons (Phillip), Bryan Davis (Jamie), Brittney Jennings (Wesley), Sarah Beddingfield, Clayton Schultz, and Nicholas Harrison, brought immeasurable joy to her life, as did her several great-grandchildren. Ann also leaves behind her brother, Gerald Spear.

Ann Harrison was a woman of Nazarene faith, a Christian who lived her beliefs through acts of kindness and generosity. Her work as the owner of a beauty shop was more than a profession; it was a means of connection, a place where she not only styled hair but also nurtured friendships and community ties. Her presence was a comforting fixture to those who frequented her shop, and her absence will be deeply felt.

Those who knew Ann will fondly remember her weekly ritual of getting her hair done, a practice that was both a personal pleasure and an extension of her professional passion. Her love for cats was evident in the gentle care she provided to her feline friends, and her enjoyment of watching television was one of the simple pleasures she cherished in her downtime.

Ann Harrison lived her life with an open heart, always ready to give and receive love. She was the embodiment of kindness and thoughtfulness, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide her family and all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her grace. Her memory will be cherished, her stories retold, and her spirit will live on in the lives of those she loved. Ann’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but they take comfort in knowing that her legacy of love endures.
