Saint Joseph Fire Department In Need of Volunteers

Saint Joseph Fire Department officials said last week that they are “incredibly short on manpower” and issued an invitation for residents to volunteer through the department.  The matter was discussed during a meeting of the city’s board of commissioners on Tuesday.  Fire department officials said they must rely on assistance from other fire departments, such as the City of Loretto, but that these departments are short-handed as well.  Anyone who is interested in finding out more is urged to contact the fire department or its members as soon as possible.
