Giles County Executive Graham Stowe has submitted a new report, “Partnering for the Future: Strategic Water Considerations,” outlining a coordinated plan to strengthen the county’s water infrastructure and long-term planning efforts, according to WKSR. Developed in collaboration with the Giles County Water Alliance, the report lays out a step-by-step approach to improve local water systems and ensure reliability for years to come. The Alliance, which has already held two productive meetings, brings together municipal water departments, utility districts, and county officials to share data, expertise, and resources. Stowe credited the Alliance’s progress to increased collaboration among local leaders, noting that while water problems were recognized three years ago, coordination was minimal. The plan is intended as a next step to build on recent progress. The report also highlights the contributions of Erin Curry, chair of the Giles County Water Alliance, and Daryl Williamson for his subject matter expertise in developing the plan. It emphasizes the importance of unified planning, early data collection, and coordination with state and federal partners, including TDEC, TVA, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to position Giles County for future growth and funding opportunities.
