Collinwood Resident Charged in Nephew’s July Death

Collinwood resident Victor Jerome Carver, III, age 37, has been charged in connection with the July 6 death of his 17-year-old nephew, Caden Cantrelle, in Jasper County, Mississippi.  Caden was granted a 2-day pass by the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services to visit Carver.  When he failed to return from the visit, his father was able to provide authorities with the last location of his cell phone. His body was found in a ditch on the side of a roadway.  Carver is charged with not preventing Cantrelle from ingesting fentanyl and methamphetamine, resulting in his death.  Carter has been indicted in Mississippi on charges of negligent homicide and child endangerment.
