Limestone Officials Warn of Publisher’s Clearing House Scam

Limestone County Sheriff’s officials are alerting residents to increasing numbers of scam calls involving fraudulent claims related to Publisher’s Clearing House.  Several residents have reported being contacted by phone, with the caller instructing them to pay a fee, taxes, or administrative costs in order to collect a prize.  Residents are reminded that Publisher’s Clearing House filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and is no longer in operation, therefore they will not be offering any prizes.  Should you be contacted in this manner, please report it to your local law enforcement agency.
