The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating the retirement of Deputy Karen Knox, the first woman to serve as a deputy in the county. Knox began her career with the department in 1972 and served until 2004. After several years with Browns Ferry security, she returned to the sheriff’s office in 2021. During her career, Knox served under seven sheriffs of Lauderdale County.
