Mildred J. Mattox

Mildred J. Mattox, age 76, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Countryside Health and Rehabilitation in Lawrenceburg, TN.  She was a native of Auburndale, FL, a homemaker, and a member of Trinity Life Tabernacle Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Virginia Sutton Freemon; her husband, Joe Mattox; three sisters, Judy Lomax Whitehead, Donna Morris, and Linda Ball; and two brothers, Buddy Freemon and Larry Lomax.

She is survived by one son, Jeff Toungette (Tammy); one daughter, Kim Johnson; one brother, Gaylon Freemon; two sisters, June Cox and Alice Womble (James); six grandchildren, Jessica Powell (Brad), Scott Toungette (Danielle), Brooke Toungette (Tim), Beth Toungette, Jordan Clayton, and Dustin Moore; twelve great-grandchildren, Xander Powell, Maverick Powell, Gracie Toungette, Bailey Tidwell, Natiley Tidwell, Archer Toungette, Atticus Toungette, Hunter Robertson, Will Jones, Gracelynn Jennings, Harleigh Toungette, and Scarlett Moore; several nieces and nephews.  Those serving as pallbearers are Scott Toungette, Brad Powell, Hunter Robertson, Will Jones, Allen Kirby, and Todd Womble.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice Compassus staff, nurses, and Jemma for the love and compassion shown.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 28, 2025, with Joe Wallace officiating.  Interment will follow at Trinity Life Tabernacle Cemetery in Leoma, Tennessee.  Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
