A Tennessee lawmaker has introduced a resolution to honor the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, according to WSMV 4. Representative Lee Reeves of Franklin filed a joint resolution on September 16 proposing that September 10, 2026, be designated as “Charlie Kirk Day.” The resolution highlights Kirk’s role as a prominent figure in the young conservative movement and describes him as a gifted orator and debater. Kirk was fatally shot on September 10 while holding an open forum at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was the CEO and co-founder of Turning Point USA, known for engaging young people in political discussions regardless of their views. The resolution is scheduled for discussion and a vote when the Tennessee General Assembly convenes on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
