Columbia Officer Recognized for August Arrest of Wanted Felon

The Columbia Police Department has named Officer David Williams as its Officer of the Month for August 2025.

Officer Williams received information about a suspect wanted out of Nashville on charges of homicide and aggravated kidnapping who had been spotted in Columbia. After locating a vehicle registered to the suspect, Williams conducted a traffic stop. The suspect fled on foot but was apprehended a short distance away.

Police officials said Williams’ awareness and attention to detail led to the arrest of a dangerous felon with a violent criminal history.
