Lawrenceburg City Council Approves Agenda Items; Officer Retires After 31 Years

The Lawrenceburg City Council met Thursday, September 11, 2025, and approved all items on its agenda. The council passed Ordinance No. 1444, amending the Lawrenceburg Municipal Code to add Mobile Vending Limited Use Standards. Members voted to authorize the Lawrenceburg Police Department to apply for and accept a grant through the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to fund high-visibility DUI enforcement for fiscal year 2025-26. The program includes $10,000 in funding, with $6,000 for equipment reimbursement and $4,000 for overtime expenses. The council also recognized the retirement of David Russ, who served 31 years with the Lawrenceburg Police Department.
