Giles County Man Arrested on Aggravated Rape of a Child Charge

The Giles County Sheriff’s Department announced that Cecil Tatum has been arrested following a recent investigation and charged with aggravated rape of a child. Authorities remind the public that under Tennessee law, all individuals are mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect. Anyone with knowledge of or reasonable cause to suspect that a child is being abused or neglected is legally required to report it immediately. The Sheriff’s Department urges anyone with additional information regarding this case, or any other suspected abuse or criminal activity, to contact their office.
