James Carl Manuele, Sr., age 80, of Leoma, TN passed away Wednesday, September 03, 2025, at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, TN. He was a native of Medina, NY, retired civil engineer, and of the Catholic Faith. Mr. Manuele served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as an AirBorne Ranger and Special Forces Commander. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 18 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Manuele; mother, Helen Filipovich Stangland; step-father, Louis Stangland; three sisters, Josephine Walker, Katherine Gardner, and Rosemary Behee; half-sister, Martha Lord; and one step-brother, Michael Stangland.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pamela Manuele of Leoma, TN; one daughter, Alyson Manuele of CO; one son, James Carl Manuele, Jr. of TN; one brother, Gary Manuele of TX; one sister, Frances Magyar of NY; and six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Patrick, Jacob, Stella, Emma, and Sophia.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg at 10:00 AM Friday, September 12, 2025, with Father Andrew Forsythe officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN with full military honors. Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
