Richard Carl Smith

Richard “Booger” Smith, age 62, a resident of Lawrenceburg, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Lawrenceburg.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Cathedral of Faith at the Corner of 1^st Avenue and 3^rd Street in Lawrenceburg at 2:00 PM with Brother Kenny West officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  

Born July 7, 1963, in Lawrenceburg, he was the son of the late Alfred Smith and the late Helen Bailey Smith. He married his best friend, Tina Melton Smith and together they celebrated thirty-six years of marriage. Richard had a deep faith in God and was a loving Christian person. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and was a talented small engine mechanic. He enjoyed being outdoors and worked for many years at Murray Ohio, where he was given the nickname Booger. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Brandon) Kollefrath, brothers, Jerry (Nancy) Smith, Charles Smith, sister, Robbie Smith, granddaughter, Emery Kate Kollefrath, and several nephews, and nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Randy Smith, niece, Tonya Smith, and great nephew, William Smith Jr.
