The Columbia Police Department has recognized Field Training Officer Reeves as Officer of the Month for July 2025 for his proactive work that led to the removal of drugs and a firearm from city streets. In July, FTO Reeves initiated a traffic stop for speeding. During the encounter, he detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search of the car uncovered 15 grams of marijuana and a firearm. Police officials credited Reeves’ attentiveness and commitment to public safety as reasons for the successful outcome of the stop. His actions exemplify the department’s mission to reduce crime and keep the community safe. The Columbia Police Department thanked FTO Reeves for his service and dedication to the community.
