Lawrence County Fire & Rescue reported that multiple stations responded to a structure fire Monday afternoon in the West End Fire District.

Shortly after 4:45 p.m., crews from the West End, Gandy, Ethridge, and Henryville stations arrived on scene within minutes to find a 1,750-square-foot residence heavily involved in flames. Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack and search while additional units established a water shuttle operation.

Crews were able to halt the fire’s spread and confirmed no one was trapped inside. The blaze was brought under control, and no injuries were reported. Fire personnel remained at the scene for salvage, overhaul, and to investigate the fire’s origin and cause.

As a result of the fire, two families—four adults and one child—have been displaced. Fire officials are working with local organizations to assist the families while they recover.

Stations 1, 2, 3, 6, 11, 13, and Box 50 Responder Services were among those dispatched. Lawrence County E-911, EMA, and EMS also assisted in the response.
