Lawrence County EMS Releases August 2025 Service Report

Lawrence County EMS has released its monthly service report for August 2025, highlighting a busy month of calls, patient transports, and community outreach.
According to the report, EMS crews responded to 587 requests during the month, resulting in 379 patient transports. Of those, 46 patients were transported to Maury Regional Medical Center, one to STRHS-Pulaski, 20 to North Alabama Medical Center, and 24 to facilities in other counties. Crews also recorded 139 refusal-of-care or no-care-required calls, 20 fire standby, law enforcement assistance, or mutual aid requests, and 55 canceled calls or situations where no patient was found.
Community outreach efforts included four events or lifesaving training opportunities.
The August call volume was higher compared to the same month in 2024 but showed a slight decrease from July 2025, which officials said is consistent with trends in previous years. Interfacility transfers decreased from 138 in August 2024 to 91 this year.
EMS personnel also took part in multiple continuing education opportunities, including stroke accreditation and transport drug education from STRHS-L, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Resuscitation, and Stabilization, and online courses on mechanism of injury and medical assessments. EMS administration attended the TASA Reimbursement and Compliance Conference at the end of the month.
With football season underway, EMS responders provided medical standby at five Friday night games during August.
Officials noted that statistics are accurate to the best of their knowledge but may contain slight inaccuracies due to reporting software limitations and the wide range of responses handled each month.
