Florence Arts and Museums will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a special Storytime at the Museum program on Friday, September 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts. Designed for children ages 5–8, the program will feature a reading of Ana Aranda’s Our Day of the Dead, followed by hands-on activities such as making papel picado and decorating a traditional ofrenda. The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the City of Florence Department of Arts and Museums. The Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts, located at 217 E. Tuscaloosa St. in Florence, offers free tours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information, call (256) 760-6379.
