The family of a Deshler High School football player is seeking answers after their son, August Borden, suffered a severe injury at school. Borden sustained a skull fracture and severe concussion, leaving him hospitalized and unconscious for several days, according to WAAY 31. Borden’s parents were called to the school last Tuesday and found their son being loaded into an ambulance. His injuries were serious enough that he was airlifted to UAB Hospital for treatment. The family disputes the school’s explanation that the injuries were the result of a fall, citing concerns over the lack of surveillance cameras at the front of the school. They are requesting transparency and accountability from those present during the incident. Tuscumbia police confirmed they are actively investigating the case. The family has met with school officials and law enforcement but reported no new updates. As Borden continues his recovery, his family is asking the community for support and prayers.
