Lawrence County Fire Rescue crews had a busy Sunday, answering nine calls for service as of 8:34 p.m. The day’s incidents included a rollover crash in the Henryville District, a helicopter landing zone setup in the Leoma District, and multiple brush fires reported in the Gandy and Center Point districts. Firefighters also assisted with three high-priority medical emergencies in the Crossroads, New Prospect, and Ethridge districts, along with a fire alarm activation in Leoma. Officials noted that, unlike EMS and law enforcement, fire departments in Tennessee are not classified as essential services under state law.
