Summertown Utility District Updates Customers on Projects

Summertown Utility District officials are updating customers on planned improvements and upgrades to the water system.  The district provides water to customers using a series of wells.  Growth in the area caused additional demand, and a well was dug on Caldwell Road around 20 years ago to bolster the current supply.  The district learned during inspection that the well was subject to ground water seepage, and since constructing a water filtration system was not financially feasible at that time, they were unable to use it.  The district assures customers that they are now pursuing funding to construct the filtration system and other upgrades.  They remind them that it is a lengthy process, but that they hope it have it completed in the spring of 2027.
