Floyd Junior Hannah

Floyd Junior Hannah, a resident of Greenhill, AL, passed away Aug. 14, 2025, at the age of 83.  He was born Jan. 22, 1942, to Floyd and Shelby (McMurtrey) Hannah. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda McGee Hannah and his faithful dog “Foxy”.  He is survived by his wife Kathie Hannah, stepdaughter Melissa (Aubrey) Morrison, (4) step-grandchildren, aunt Marcella (McMurtrey) Pitts, sister-in-law Melanie Henry, mother-in-law Patricia Cates McConnell, and numerous cousins.

Junior was born and made his home in Greenhill.  He graduated from Rogers High School.  He was a member of, and served as deacon at, Bluewater Baptist Church, in Loretto, TN.  He graduated from Northwest Alabama State Junior College, in Phil Campbell.  Floyd served in the Army as a Specialist Four (SP4) and sergeant, and later in the Army Reserves.  He worked at Barr & Tune Architects in Florence and then went on to teach drafting at Allen Thornton Vocational School, in Killen, AL, where he retired in 1997, after 28 years. He also owned and operated Heritage Homes Blueprints & Drafting.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, from 12:00pm – 2:00pm, at Greenhill Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm, in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Bill Barlow officiating.  Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery.  

The pallbearers will be friends and family. Honorary pallbearers will be his former students from Allen Thornton Vocational School. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers Judy Rogers, Tammy Cabler, and Myra McDougal, for their support and care over the last few weeks.  A special thanks, also, for the care and kindness shown by Affinity Hospice during his illness.
