A routine traffic stop by the Maury County Sheriff’s Office Drug & Flex Unit last week uncovered a major stash of illegal drugs valued at more than $80,000.
Deputies seized 6 pounds of methamphetamine, 2 ounces of cocaine, 1 ounce of fentanyl, and a bag of unidentified pills. Authorities noted that just one gram of fentanyl can be lethal to nearly 500 people.
Investigators then obtained a search warrant for a related residence, where they found additional methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, more pills, a pound of marijuana, and multiple bottles of promethazine cough syrup.
Sheriff’s officials credited the swift work of the Drug & Flex Unit with removing a significant amount of dangerous drugs from the community.
