Emergency crews responded Monday afternoon to a motor vehicle accident that sparked a fire along Interstate 65.
The incident occurred around 3:16 p.m. on August 11 at the 43-mile marker in Maury County. Responding units included Engines 21 and 30, along with Rescue 21. Crews arrived to find a vehicle fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading into the median. The blaze was quickly brought under control, and only minor injuries were reported.
As crews prepared to clear the scene, a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper experienced a flat tire. Rescue 21 personnel and a TDOT worker assisted in changing the tire, allowing the trooper to return to patrol.
