Lawrenceburg City Council to Hold August 14 Meeting

The Lawrenceburg City Council will meet Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, at 9 a.m. in the Council Meeting Room of the Municipal Complex at 25 Public Square.

Anyone wishing to speak on an agenda item must sign in before the meeting begins.

The session will open with public hearings on Ordinances 1438 and 1439, both amending the city’s zoning ordinance.

Council will then consider several ordinances:

• Ordinance 1438 – Amendment to the city’s zoning ordinance (second reading).

• Ordinance 1439 – Amendment to the city’s zoning ordinance (second reading).

• Ordinance 1440 – Amendment to the zoning ordinance adding new sections to site plan requirements, including updated mapping and design standards (second reading).

• Ordinance 1441 – Amendment to the municipal code regulating taxicabs and definitions (first reading).

• Ordinance 1442 – Amendment to the 2025–2026 budget appropriations for the city’s general fund (first reading).

• Ordinance 1443 – Amendment to the 2024–2025 budget appropriations for the city’s general fund (first reading).

Resolutions on the agenda include:

• Amending multiple prior resolutions relating to salary supplements for certain city employees.

• Accepting TTL’s proposal for final engineering services for pedestrian crossings at David Crockett State Park and Old Waynesboro Highway (SR 242) through the MMAG grant project.

• Accepting Bridgepoint LLC’s proposal for engineering and construction administration on the extension of Springer Road from Mattoxtown Road to Little Shoal Creek.

• Reappointing Charles “Butch” Newell to the Lawrenceburg Beer Board.

• Reappointing Peyton Sockwell to the Lawrenceburg Beer Board.

• Authorizing the Lawrenceburg Police Department to purchase four 2025 Dodge Durango SUVs through the state bid contract with Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Columbia.
