Martin Chaney, M.D., Chief Executive Officer of Maury Regional Health, was the guest speaker at the Friday, August 8, 2025, meeting of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club. Dr. Chaney, who has been with Maury Regional since 2002 and has served as CEO since 2022, provided Rotarians with an insightful look into the evolving healthcare landscape in southern Middle Tennessee.

Maury Regional Health serves a population of more than 260,000 residents across an eight-county region, supported by over 3,300 employees and 300 physicians. Dr. Chaney emphasized the organization’s core commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate care for every patient, every day, and outlined their vision to be the trusted choice for health and wellness in southern Middle Tennessee.

A quasi-governmental, not-for-profit health system, Maury Regional Health has been recognized as being in the top 15% of hospitals nationwide in terms of patient experience. Dr. Chaney reviewed key service volume statistics, the system’s charitable care contributions, and discussed the health system’s movement toward becoming a tertiary care center, capable of delivering advanced and specialized medical services, including an increasing number of robotic-assisted surgeries.

With Middle Tennessee continuing to experience steady population growth, Dr. Chaney provided an overview of future development, including campus expansion plans to meet increasing demand and maintain seamless access to high-quality care throughout the service area.  He also provided a quick overview of services that will be provided at the MRH medical facility currently under construction in Lawrence County.

The Lawrenceburg Rotary Club meets weekly and remains committed to service above self, focusing on projects that improve health, education, and quality of life both locally and globally.
