State Rep. Kip Capley, R-Summertown, has announced that the South Central Tennessee Development District will receive $40,120 in state funding to support arts education and community outreach programs.
The grant is part of the $12.3 million allocated in Tennessee’s 2025-26 state budget to enhance arts initiatives across the state. Administered by the Tennessee Arts Commission, the funding is awarded through a competitive application process.
The investment aims to expand access to arts and cultural opportunities in both rural and urban communities, while also boosting local economies and supporting education. Tennessee’s arts and culture sector contributes $1.4 billion annually to the state’s economy and supports more than 23,400 full-time jobs.
Rep. Capley represents District 71, which includes parts of Wayne, Hardin, Lawrence, and Maury counties. For more information about arts grants, visit tnartscommission.org.
