Tennessee Gas Prices Hold Steady, Among Nation’s Lowest

Tennessee’s average gas price is holding steady at $2.76 per gallon, down one cent from last week and 32 cents less than this time last year. The state continues to rank among the cheapest in the nation, with the fifth lowest average.

As students return to school and summer travel winds down, fuel demand is expected to decline, helping to keep prices stable.

Nationally, gas prices dropped two cents to $3.14 per gallon. Crude oil prices saw a slight increase, with West Texas Intermediate closing at $70 per barrel. U.S. oil inventories rose by 7.7 million barrels, but remain slightly below the five-year average.

Across Tennessee, Chattanooga has the lowest average at $2.66, while Nashville and Memphis are at $2.81. Knoxville remains steady at $2.74.
