Wayne County Approves 2025-26 Budget

The Wayne County Commission has approved a spending plan for the 2025-26 fiscal year that relies upon a 10-cent increase in the county’s property tax rate.  The new tax rate is $1.64 per $100 of assessed value.  The budget includes a 3% cost-of-living raise for county employees, excluding elected officials.  County leaders said that the tax increase was necessary to maintain essential services and invest in the county’s infrastructure.
