Landon Saunders, a board member with Downtown Lawrenceburg, Lawrence County Airport, and owner of Cloud 9 Fiber Internet, was the featured speaker at the Friday, August 1 meeting of the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club. Saunders provided club members with updates on two key infrastructure initiatives: the Lawrenceburg airport expansion and the ongoing growth of Cloud 9 Fiber internet service.
Saunders reported that while there is currently no short-term plan to lengthen the airport’s existing 5,000-foot runway, significant improvements are in motion. The focus is on expanding hangar capacity and increasing aircraft parking space to accommodate growing demand. He noted that most privately owned aircraft can already land at the airport without issue under current conditions.
He also highlighted the continuing expansion of Cloud 9 Fiber, a high-speed internet service. The network will soon be extended northward toward Summertown and westward toward Deerfield. Additionally, a planned extension along Prosser Road is expected to be completed within a year. These efforts support broader connectivity goals for Lawrence County residents and businesses.
Rotarians expressed appreciation for Saunders’ update and his ongoing service to the community through his role with Downtown Lawrenceburg.
