Florence Man Indicted on Multiple Child Sex Charges

A Florence man has been indicted on several felony charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of two young children in Lauderdale County.

According to court documents, 60-year-old Scotty Reppond is accused of engaging in sexual acts with two children, both under the age of 12. The documents allege that one of the children was also subjected to further sexual contact and sodomy.

On July 21, a Lauderdale County grand jury returned an indictment charging Reppond with two counts of rape, one count of sodomy, and one count of sexual abuse of a child under 12.

Reppond was taken into custody on Monday following the indictments. He remains in custody as the legal process moves forward.

The case is being handled by local authorities and remains under investigation.
