Local emergency crews faced a steady stream of calls over the weekend, beginning midday Friday with a structure fire at a Lawrenceburg apartment complex and a motor vehicle crash with injuries in the West End Fire District.

Saturday saw a continuation of the activity, with personnel responding to several injury crashes and high-priority medical emergencies throughout the county.

On Sunday morning, crews provided mutual aid for a structure fire involving a residential board-up in the City of Saint Joseph. The day continued with multiple urgent medical calls requiring immediate attention.

During the Saint Joseph fire response, nearby residents offered assistance to first responders by bringing ice and water to help combat the intense heat. Several coolers were placed on the ground at the scene to support personnel working in the high temperatures.

Emergency officials expressed appreciation for the strong community support throughout the weekend’s operations.
