HPD Urges Caution With Emergency Vehicles

After dealing with several recent close calls, the Huntsville Police Department is reminding motorists to properly yield when flashing lights are present.  Anytime you see flashing lights behind you and hear sirens, they remind you to remain calm, move to the right side of the roadway, slow down or come to a complete stop, and wait until emergency vehicles have passed before attempting to re-enter traffic.  They remind motorists to never slam on your brakes in the middle of the roadway, pull to the left, or to assume the vehicle will go around you.  Following these guidelines will provide the safest outcome for everyone involved.
