A Florence man died Thursday night following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Lauderdale County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
ALEA reports that 64-year-old Ralph L. Brown was critically injured when the 2003 Harley-Davidson Sportster Custom motorcycle he was riding left the roadway, struck a culvert, and then a stop sign.
The crash happened around 8:45 p.m. on Alabama 157 near the 79-mile marker, about one mile north of Florence.
Brown was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the incident.
