Two teenagers from Giles County are facing multiple charges in connection to a sexual exploitation case currently under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
According to the TBI, the investigation began in November 2024 at the request of 22nd Judicial District Attorney General Brent Cooper, after a photograph of a local teen appeared on social media.
Agents determined that two classmates had shared the image after receiving it from another student. In addition, one of the teens allegedly sent a direct message to the victim containing a threat of harm.
As a result of the investigation, one teen has been charged with illegal use of a telecommunications device, unlawful dissemination of photography, and harassment. The second teen faces charges of illegal use of a telecommunications device and unlawful dissemination of photography.
The investigation remains ongoing.
