Tennessee’s annual back-to-school sales tax holiday will run from Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27, giving families a chance to save on essential school supplies and more.
During the tax-free weekend, shoppers can purchase clothing and footwear priced at $100 or less, school and art supplies under $100, and computers or tablets costing less than $1,500 without paying state sales tax. Eligible items include everyday school needs like backpacks, notebooks, pens, and shoes. Both in-store and online purchases qualify.
The event is part of the state’s broader effort to ease financial burdens for residents. Since 2011, Tennessee has provided over $5.1 billion in tax savings, maintaining its reputation as one of the nation’s most fiscally conservative and low-tax states.
